Glowing Amber Dancing Jade Metal Art
by Evelyn Adams
Nenana Hill Alaska
At the summit of the highest hill top in the surrounding area, in the dead of night, stood two photographers in weather more than forty degrees below freezing poised and waiting for the most opportune moment in more than a decade. In a year predicted to be one of the most impressive displays of the Aurora Borealis combined with a massive blood orange super moon, this serial moment became a reality. Two symbols of culture and religious belief from modern and past centuries combined into a moment in time that can never be duplicated. As the shutter opened and the breathtaking thirty second exposure time began, we stood motionless, time and time again, waiting and hoping for what you now see in front of your eyes. The cold sunk in through layers of protective gear as what seemed an eternity in passed, half of a minute at a time. Finally the shutter snapped closed for the last time. With fingers now nearly too numb to move and feet that felt like led, we descended back to the valley below to celebrate what is perhaps one of the most spectacular compositions ever captured of the mystical Aurora and a blood orange moon.
